Saturday, October 5th at cAKe
Want to impress your friends and family the next time you volunteer to “make the cake” for that big party or get together? Join us for our Cake Decorating Class on Saturday, October 5th. All you need to bring is a willingness to learn, a smile and your love of cake!
During the two-hour class, you’ll learn the basics of cake decorating with a focus on buttercream decoration, finished sides and piping.
What’s piping you ask? It’s that cone-shaped bag you squeeze frosting or icing out of to decorate cakes and cookies. The point of the piping can have a variety of tips to give you different decorating effects. Think of them as paint brushes to create works of culinary art…that you can eat!
No Experience Required
Don’t worry about your decoration skills or lack thereof. This class is for beginners and those with a moderate amount of experince. Keep the pre-made cake mix and store-bought frosting at home though, we make all of our cakes from scratch!
Your cAKe Decorating Guide
Your teacher will be none other than cAKe Studio owner and Head Pastry Chef, Will McDonald. Will has more than 25 years of industry experience and a charming personality to boot. He grew up in Homer, where he enjoyed being able to get outdoors and pick berries, and then head inside to make them into something deliciously fresh for his family. With a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from Johnson & Wales University , will enjoys creating all of our decadent desserts and celebration cakes.
