Featured Item: Made in the Heartland Custom Aprons

Our collection of aprons are hand sewn from Mary Leonard's "Made in the Heartland" series.  Mary resides in Bargersville Indiana with her husband Gene and their fur kiddos.

Mary began her sewing passion 25 years ago making baby quilts for her twin sons by hand stitching, and she hated every minute of it.  When Mary's grandmother passed she inherited her 1953 Singer Portable machine and decided to to take on making curtains and hemming jeans....still hating every moment.

In 1999 she was part of a group of friends who decided to make a Y2K quilt, Mary made 12 blocks for the quilt and found a new passion in quilting.  With this new found passion, Mary had to learn to coordinate fabrics together to make effective patterns and shapes.  Mary learned the ARTISTRY of quilting.

In 2014 we asked Mary to start making aprons for retail sale here in our little bakery, and oddly Mary found that making aprons allows her to mix and match fabrics with a quicker end result, instant gratification, and beautifully created aprons which appear like artwork in themselves.  Mary has finally found her PASSION!!

Each apron has a sister apron, but there are no two aprons exactly alike.  When you buy one of Mary's aprons you are getting a one of a kind original that no one else in this world will have but you!!
